Release notes

What changed — and why it matters.

A curated record of the product moments people can feel: new ways to explain systems, clearer authoring, and fixes that protect the canvas.

  1. Latest

    Pro and MCP go live

Nodefall added a paid persistence and automation layer while keeping the complete local canvas free.

    Added

    Improved

    • Paid access is enforced consistently in the interface, server APIs, Firebase rules, and every MCP tool.
    • Stale browser or MCP writes now fail with a revision conflict instead of replacing newer graph state.

    Fixed

    • Concurrent upgrade attempts reuse one Checkout Session instead of creating duplicate subscriptions.
  2. Shareable walkthroughs

Authored presentations became portable, focused stories that work outside the editor.

    Added

    • Read-only iframe snippets and direct embed URLs from the Share dialog.
    • Spotlight, soft-focus, and highlight treatments for walkthrough steps.

    Improved

    • Walkthrough playback now hides editing handles and respects sequence-level focus styling.
    • Region and zone editing now uses curated provider-aware choices.

    Fixed

    • Long embed snippets no longer force the Share dialog beyond the viewport.
  3. Walkthrough Studio

Diagrams gained an authored narrative layer with camera moves, timing, and semantic focus.

    Added

    • A dedicated studio for writing, reordering, duplicating, and previewing presentation steps.
    • Per-step camera framing, narration, focused blocks, edge emphasis, and auto-play timing.
    • Intent-level walkthrough commands with undo and redo, stored inside portable GraphDocs.

    Improved

    • Read-only share links can play the same walkthrough without exposing editor controls.
  4. Canvas themes with a point of view

Appearance became a first-class part of the document rather than a single global skin.

    Added

    • Curated canvas presets, ambient effects, block fonts, and cloud block styles.

    Improved

    • Theme layers are separated so canvas appearance stays portable and maintainable.
    • Blueprint edges and nested container zones retain useful contrast in every preset.
  5. Systems in motion

The Systems canvas moved from a static diagrammer toward the cinematic tool Nodefall set out to be.

    Added

    • Presentation mode, animation controls, travelling protocol labels, and video export.
    • A vendor-neutral block catalog alongside cloud-specific services.
    • A review-required Terraform/OpenTofu scaffold export for architecture drafts.

    Fixed

    • Recorded clips now capture the real animated canvas without editor overlays.
  6. Nodefall gets its name

The product identity and local-first creation flow settled into the foundation used today.

    Added

    • Starter canvases and a mode-aware New Design flow.
    • A private cloud library for signed-in users, while local drafts remain available without an account.

    Improved

    • Provider palettes can be reordered without changing the underlying graph vocabulary.
